Connecting Your Instagram Account to the L'Oréalistar Platform
To participate in challenges that require Instagram content, you must connect your Instagram account to the L'Oréalistar platform. This connection allows the system to verify your posts and track submissions, ensuring they meet the challenge requirements. Without linking your account, you will not be able to submit content for review or qualify for stars.
Why is this important?

Before You Connect Your Account
Before connecting your Instagram account, make sure you meet these requirements:
1. Your Instagram Account is a Business or Creator Account
Your Instagram account must be set to Business or Creator mode for tracking.
How to Switch to a Business or Creator Account
- Open Instagram and go to your Profile.
- Tap Menu (☰) → Settings & Privacy.
- Select Account → Switch to Professional Account.
- Choose Creator or Business, then tap Next.
- Follow the setup steps and tap Done.
2. You Have a Professional Facebook Page Linked to Instagram
Your Instagram must be linked to a Professional Facebook Page in Meta Business settings.
How to Create a Professional Facebook Page
- Go to Facebook Page Setup and click Create New Page.
- Enter a Page name and select a Category (e.g., Beauty, Fashion).
- Click Create Page, then add details (e.g., website, bio, profile picture).
- Tap Done to save your page.
3. Connect Your Instagram Account to Your Facebook Page
How to Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page
- Go to Facebook and open your Page.
- Click Settings → Linked Accounts → Instagram.
- Tap Connect Account, log into your Instagram, and allow access.
- Ensure all permissions are enabled.
How to Connect Your Account on the L'Oréalistar Platform
- Log in to the L'Oréalistar Platform: Visit us.lorealistar.com and log in.
- Go to Your Profile: Click on your profile icon or navigate to Settings.
- Start the Instagram Connection Process: Click Connect Instagram to begin.
- Authenticate Your Account via Meta: Select your Professional Facebook Page and Instagram Business/Creator account.
- Grant All Required Permissions: Enable permissions for Instagram posts and stories.
- Confirm the Connection: Your Instagram account should now be listed as Connected.
Important: If you don’t grant full permissions, we may not be able to retrieve and verify your posts!Troubleshooting Common Issues
🔹 I Can’t See My Instagram Account When Connecting
Ensure your Instagram is linked to a Professional Facebook Page under Business Integrations in Facebook Settings.
🔹 The Platform Says My Account Isn’t a Business/Creator Account
Check your Instagram settings and switch to a Business or Creator Account.
🔹 I Didn’t Grant Full Permissions During Authentication
Remove the connection in Facebook Business Integrations, then reconnect with full permissions enabled.
🔹 I Connected the Wrong Instagram Account
Log out and reconnect, ensuring you select the correct Professional Facebook Page and linked Instagram account.

How to Disconnect Social Accounts
If you need to disconnect your Instagram or TikTok account from the L'Oréalistar platform (e.g., to switch accounts or resolve connection issues), follow these steps. Disconnecting is simple but may temporarily impact content tracking for challenges.
Steps to Disconnect Social Accounts
- Log in to the L'Oréalistar platform at us.lorealistar.com and navigate to your Profile section.
- Locate the Social Accounts area in your profile settings.
- Click Disconnect next to Instagram or TikTok (whichever you want to remove).
- Confirm the disconnection prompt—your account will be unlinked immediately.
- If needed, reconnect by following the connection guides for Instagram or TikTok.
